The story behind the film

Trinity Beach: A Walk Beside the Sea

Narayan Mishra · · Trinity Beach, Queensland

Trinity Beach from Narayan’s original film

By the water

Trinity Beach invites a slower kind of journey. With the sea beside me and tropical trees overhead, I follow the beachfront on foot, taking time to look at the views and the small details along the way.

Beneath the tropical trees

The open coastline gives way to shaded walking paths. The camera moves between the beach and the trees, showing how a short walk can offer different ways of seeing the same place. There is no need to hurry to the next stop.

Everyday beachside life

Beyond the sand, cafés, accommodation and neighbourhood streets bring another side of Trinity Beach into view. These everyday places are part of the story too: a coastal community seen at walking pace, rather than only as a view from the shore.

A small escape, close to home

The film returns to the beach, bringing the walk back to where it began. For me, this is the pleasure of filming around Cairns: a familiar coast can still offer a fresh story when I take the time to notice it. I share this journey in my own Nepali voice, with an invitation to explore at your own pace.

Which part of Trinity Beach would make you stop and look a little longer?
